The work, 'Meetings - a fully integrated approach' for InterContinental Hotels Group provides LAW Creative with consecutive Hotel Marketing Association wins for 2010 and 2011. In 2010 the specialist hotel and leisure marketing agency won the Best Internal Communications Award for InterContinental Hotels and Resorts', 'Responsible Business Day', a global campaign that was highly successful and even attracted the attention and support of top ranked tennis player Rafa Nadal and Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon.

IHG’s UK and Ireland (UK&I) Managed Estate has moved another step closer to its ambition of establishing itself as a leader in the marketing industry with a major win at the Hotel Marketing Association Awards for a campaign created to promote awareness of their meetings and events proposition. Holiday Inn’s Managed Estate marketing campaign, ‘Stay Meeting’, fought off stiff competition to win the highly acclaimed award for Best Agency Promotion or Campaign of the Year 2011. The campaign uses press, video, digital and PR to increase awareness of Holiday Inn’s modern meetings and conference facilities in a variety of locations across the UK.
The campaign aims to increase awareness of the hotel chain’s meetings and events offer within the industry, and since its launch Holiday Inn has seen a sharp increase in bookings. The campaign website has had over 6,700 visits, the PR campaign reached 2.8 million people and the campaign as a whole is still well on-track to deliver their revenue target. These statistics are continuing to rise as the campaign progresses.

IHG’s UK&I Managed Estate is also celebrating success with 14 of their UK Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza sites achieving AIM accreditation. AIM is the meeting and events industries only accreditation scheme and is a quality mark for meetings and events bookers. The accredited group is made of IHG’s UK&I Managed Estates top performing Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels, all of which underwent rigorous quality checks to ensure they met the high standards required. In fact, the hotels more than surpassed the standard required, achieving an average pass rate of 93%, compared to the AIM prerequisite of 65%.

The Hotel Marketing Association is the official branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing for the hotel industry. The 2011 awards, which were held at The Savoy Hotel in London in November, were first launched in 1993 to celebrate the best hotel marketing campaigns in the UK.
