LAW Creative is lead agency for Thistle Hotels, a collection of 31 hotels located across the UK.
LAW provides a full range of marketing services utilising its extensive knowledge of the hotel industry to deliver impactful communications.
Following on from the creation of Thistle’s Christmas collateral, we were tasked with creating a dedicated Thistle Christmas microsite to house all of the hotel specific party information in an online solution.
The client wanted this site to have synchronicity with all of the offline collateral as well as providing added value content for the consumer which would drive traffic to the site, as well as encourage repeat visits.
Owing to the high volume of content required on this site, we needed to build this on a content management system to allow the ease of managing the content and imagery across the site. The site utilises Umbraco CMS (an open source.net platform) with some custom code to deliver interactivity via Google Maps API (Search and Map) and improved user experience via latest front-end methodologies. We also employed on page SEO techniques to help drive traffic via search engines.
The site was extremely well received with over 60,000 visitors in a three month period and generated thousands of online enquiries helping to increase Christmas party bookings throughout the festive period.
Thistle Automated Marketing Platform
LAW Creative has worked with Thistle Hotels to integrate LAW AMP with their existing systems to deliver highly targeted, relevant and timely email communications to customers based on their behaviours and preferences.
In addition to automated brand campaigns being broadcast centrally, each hotel is able to send email communications easily and effectively to their local databases enabling them to drive revenue via well targeted email campaigns.
Online Check In Campaign
Thistle Hotels wanted to promote their new online check-in service to guests. They wanted to communicate this message in a fun way that would encourage consumers to re-appraise the brand. This was done through the use of a child dressed up in business attire which was used across the collateral with the accompanying headline ‘It’s as easy as child’s play’. This highlighted how easy the service was to use.
The campaign achieved great standout and there has been a notable uptake in the use of the service.
